The name Dapor Rumah instantly evokes a sense of warmth and familiarity—like enjoying a home-cooked meal amid a busy day. The menu highlights local favourites and a variety of Nyonya kuih, making it an easy choice whether you are grabbing a quick bite during work hours or taking a break after exploring the nearby Esplanade area. With its cozy and welcoming setting, this is a pleasant spot to pop by for comforting local fare.

We ordered two dishes featuring their homemade noodles: Scallion Oil Noodles and Dapor Mee Udang. The Scallion Oil Noodles were aromatic, with a well-balanced blend of saltiness and oil. Topped with a fried egg, it delivered a simple yet satisfying comfort dish. The Dapor Mee Udang, on the other hand, was decent but fell short of the rich, bold prawn flavours typically found in mee udang from traditional warungs. It was served with two large prawns, along with onions and bean sprouts.

We were also intrigued by their wide selection of Nyonya kuih and fried snacks. While they were nicely prepared, some lacked a memorable wow factor. One item that truly stood out was the Kuih Durian “Ku”, filled with two types of durian and shredded coconut. A creative and interesting combination that is worth for the idea to try.
