Gurney Paragon Mall by Hunza Group ushers in the Year of the Fire Horse with the launch of its Chinese New Year celebration themed “Blooming Abundance 春晖闪耀.” Inspired by passion, momentum, and bold new beginnings, the theme reflects a year defined by growth, innovation, and positive transformation.
The grand décor launch was graced by YB Daniel Gooi (Penang State Executive Councillor for Youth, Sports and Health), Mr Abdul Hadi Che Man, (Director of Tourism Malaysia, Northern Region), Ms Tan Soo Siang and Ms Koay Gaik Kee (City Councillors Of Penang Island) while led by Dato' Khor Siang Gin (Hunza Group Managing Director), Ms Khor Tze Ming (Hunza Group Executive Director) and Ms Koay Bee Fong (Chief Operating Officer of Gurney Paragon Mall).
The mall has been transformed into a visually captivating festive destination, featuring auspicious elements, blooming florals, and traditional symbolism. At the centre of the décor stands an opulent pagoda, symbolising stability and ascent, complemented by flourishing floral arrangements that represent renewal, prosperity, and the arrival of spring. Subtle batik-inspired motifs have also been incorporated as a nod to the upcoming Hari Raya season, creating a seamless blend of tradition and modern elegance that celebrates cultural continuity throughout the year.
This year, Gurney Paragon Mall is proud to announce its partnership with Luk Fook Jewellery, San Xi Lou, Standard Chartered Bank and QL Eggs. Ms Khor Tze Ming expressed her appreciation about the collaborations, highlighting how their contributions helped to bring the theme of Blooming Abundance to life.
She also thanked the State Government of Penang, the City Council of Penang Island, and Tourism Malaysia for their continued efforts towards making Penang a distinctive destination, particularly with the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY 2026) as the headlining campaign.
The launch ceremony featured a mesmerising lion dance performance, setting the tone for a joyous and auspicious celebration.
In the spirit of giving, Gurney Paragon Mall is proud to support Childhood Cancer Caregiver Support Organization (CRISO), recognising its dedication to caregivers of children newly diagnosed with cancer. The mall commends CRISO’s efforts in raising awareness and providing cancer onboarding kits to help families navigate the early stages of treatment.
