Satay Setia House with 9 different satay @ Alor Setar, Kedah

Satay Setia House started small in Alor Setar by supplying Satay around the town but the popularity soon grew. They are well know for having 9 different types of satay - namely chicken, free range chicken, duck, beef, mutton, deer, stomach, turkey, and rabbit. This is exciting, as some of the range offered are rare such as turkey or rabbit. Currently Satay Setia House has a shop at Kompleks Perniagaan Utama, Jalan Sultanah Sambungan, located right beside Tat Nasi Ayam.

We joined a group of Alor Setar friends who has never tried Satay Setia House and have heard hearsay that Satay here is delicious. Determined to try all variants of satay here, we ordered 4 sticks for each satay and unfortunately rabbit meat is out of stock. The bill come to a total staggering RM 40 for that but it was reasonable I thought, considering some of the exotic meat here did not come cheap too.

Verdict - Satay Meat is succulent, well marinated and coated with honey, then grilled to the excellent point to possess some char. However, we do find the honey is a tad excessive, rendering a sweet taste which somehow masked the natural flavour of the satay. We could not differentiate between some of the meat here, and distinctive ones would be stomach, beef, mutton and duck. 

Nevertheless, we still enjoyed the satay here much. At least it was well grilled and come with thick meat, unlike those having fragment of meat and probably just nice enough to fit in the spaces between the teeth.

At the same time, we also sampled the neighbour Tat Nasi Ayam, which I was shared it is a famous chicken rice in Alor Setar. It was just average though for me and did not really impress.
