The 4-star resort is a stone throw away from the beautiful Batu Ferringhi beach, has swimming pool & water park decked in a tropical setting and spacious room for a soundless sleep. Even as a Penangite, we stole ourselves a day for holiday at Golden Sands Resorts for a de-stress moment.Â
Checked in was done swiftly, and if you are a member of Golden Circle by Shangri-La, you may proceed to the designated counter at cool lounge for check-in. Unwind yourself by watching TV in the air-conditioned settings, or flip through the magazines available there.
For your information, the general rooms in Golden Sands Resorts are divided into hill view or sea view. Our recommendation, always choose the sea view albeit it is a slightly pricey. It is more lively, as hill view will offers you a lush of greens only.
Room is spacious, and it comes with all the basic necessities that will fulfill your needs - Colgate toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, hair conditioner, coffee, tea and bottle opener. Toilet is equipped with a bathtub to live up its expectation as a resort. Though the furniture and design might look antique but this does not affect much the quality stay here.Â
One great thing about Golden Sands Resort is they offer several amenities that make your stay enjoyable, and is available upon request. Such item included international adapter, hair curler, air purifier, ionizer, air purifier, thermos, and even microwave? We did request for hair curler and thermos (not available), and they delivered within 15 minutes to our room.Â
Check out the ice machine available at the corridor of every floor, and you can take as much ice as you needed. Just make sure no wastage!
The resort provides excellent access to the Batu Ferringhi Beach. Take your time slow and stroll across the beach line. Occasionally, there will be beach boys approaches you, offering you to take the vacation packages such as pony ride, paragliding, banana boats and etc. Reject them politely if you do not wish to, and they will walk away. They are not that hard selling anyway.
