Though we are not avid fans of having cheeses on top of every food, in particularly local dishes but this Cheese Pisang Goreng sold by a modest stall outside of Restoran Nasi Kandar CM313 Alor Setar are impressive. Manned by a young Malay couple, the fried bananas are topped with generous quantity of shredded cheese (RM 3), or you can have it with a combo of shredded chocolate (RM 6) as well. The fried bananas are nothing spectacular but the shredded cheeses and chocolates really gave it a boast. It was akin like enjoying a tonne of cheese and chocolate.

If your stomach allows, check out the neighbouring stall for the great Char Koay Teow too. Both Koay Teow Kerang (RM 5) and Char Koay Teow (RM 4) are delicious. We like the less greasy variant of the Koay Teow Kerang, which comes with smooth texture Koay Teow and a little bit of char scent. While the Char Koay Teow with its nice gravy is enjoyable. However, do bear in mind the waiting time might stretch out a little longer if there is a crowd, as the chef dishes out the Char Koay Teow one by one.
