Zuzudo Ramen Bar @ G Hotel, Gurney Drive, Penang

If you are a Ramen geek, you should give a try on the varieties of Ramen at Zuzudo Ramen Bar, G Hotel Penang. The settings of long tables and chairs here is similar to a bar, granting them to be named as a Ramen bar instead of Ramen restaurant.

Bearing a pork free concept, all the Ramen here are prepared using stew chicken soup instead. The soup base is then further categorized into 4 types, namely shiro (白）, kuro（黑）,curry and kara (辛). Then you can pick different ingredients with the ramen, and of course the price might differ.

We had a bowl of Butter Scallop Kuro (RM 19) and Volcano Kara (RM 19). The broth was enjoyable, it was lightly seasoned and contained a hint of spiciness for the Valcano Kara, though insufficient to induce any form of flare in the mouth. Chicken breast is a better choice compared to scallop in our opinion, as it provides a much solid body to the overall noodles. Nevertheless, the scallop did taste great when having it alone.

Another factor that made us enjoyed the Ramen here was the springy and thin Ramen noodles. It does not loose its texture despite being drenched in the noodles soup.

Of the different appetizers and a la carte menu offered, Potato Mentai Cheese (RM 15) definitely attracted us. A nice and aromatic mentai cheese layer is coating a bed of potato, rendering a much appeasing taste. Although there potatoes were too much for just 2 of us but we enjoyed them.
