I believe Goh Thew Chik Hainan Chicken rice wasn't foreign to Penangite, it has been around the neighborhood for some time. It is always crowded with patron especially lunch hour. A few times we drove by Chulia Street, thought of dropping by for lunch. Then, we don't see any chicken hanging at the store already and we thought all the chicken have already sold out. Fear not, they have plenty kept behind the kitchen. Just park your car and find a table to enjoy your meal. However, parking could be scarce, be prepared to park few street away and walk over.

We had a lot for lunch yet yearning for their Hainan Chicken Rice, thus we ordered the portion for one and shared. The chicken was super tender and juicy, sitting in the bed of dark soy sauce, garnished with cucumber and shallots. For those who love bold flavour, you will certainly love this. For us, we thought the sauce a little bit on the salty side. It is scrumptious to blend along with their rice though.
