Roti Canai & Roti Bakar @ Transfer Road, Penang

Roti Canai and Roti Bakar are one of the landmarks on Transfer Road. Early in the morning, their stalls are crowded with patrons enjoying their breakfast at the shoulder of the road. As you drove by, the patrons literally eating outside your window. It is a magnificent phenomena to witness how the traffic and hawker stalls blended together.

Plain Roti Canai with our pick of Chicken Curry (RM 8.50). You may choose between mutton, beef and dhall for the curry. The aromatic curry was a little bit different and with moderate spiciness, while the drumstick was utmost tender. Roti Canai was thin but mediocre.

Though the aromatic curry was different from other roti canai with the spices used to spice up the curries but it was compensated with a higher price, as compared to other roti canai relatively. Apart from the curries, the only other difference that it offered was the big chunk of meat served together with the roti canai. It is very subjective to determine whether it was worthwhile the money for this high end roti canai.

Roti Bakar/Toast topped with half boiled eggs (RM 3) was a little bland to our liking. Probably we used to the Chinese way of adding soy sauce and pepper to enhanced the egg's flavour.

Finding a seat may be troublesome here, especially on weekends and public holidays as this is one of the famous spot for dining irregardless of races.
