Mee Goreng @ Bangkok Lane, Penang

Penang, the food heaven where you can find all the great food from different races. Mamak food is one of the highlight in Penang and this Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng has been rooted in Penang for more than 80 years.. Although Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng might not be the best Mee Goreng in my list, but definitely among the best in Penang.

It's stall was stuffed with yellow wheat noodle and the rest of ingredients to supply the demand for the whole day. Tauke was in charge of throwing ingredients into the kuali, while the other chef busy stir frying, tossing the noodle and skillfully spins his kuali. Cute tauke even posed to my camera with his mee goreng. You may speak hokkien with Tauke when making your orders.

Hot Mee Goreng (RM 5.00), the noodle were stir fried once and transferred to a big bowl. Eggs were then fried in the kuali before the stir fried noodle were thrown back and fried together again. Thus, their Mee Goreng serve very thick wok-hei.

Mamak style Tammin Pasembur (RM 5.00), served with fresh lime for you to sqeeze on. The highlight of this pasembur would be the reddish squid added on, just like the one you found in Mee Sotong.
