We were so hungry at midnight, at 3pm this late hour, only Nasi Kandar and 24 hours mamak are availbale. However, we craving for something different so we decided to take one round in Ayer Itam. Lao Fu Tze Bak Kut Teh was too heavy for such late night supper. Suddenly, we noticed there is one huge stall selling You Tiao aka Eu Zhar Kuey at Air Itam market.Â
Wow, indecisive on which to pick so we bought each of the kind: super crunchy You Tiao and butterfly bun, plus 3 kinds of Ham Jin Peng (fried bun). RM 0.70 each.
Quite unique kind of fried bun which has glutinous rice as filling. I like the aromatic glutinous rice itself but it was kind of stuffy to have flour and glutinous rice in one piece. Red bean fried bun was nice especially just freshly fried. However, I wasn't that prefer salty fried bun as I like to have food with stuffy filling.
