Dining along Georgetown's bustling Beach Street can be a challenge, but 5 Senses Noodle Bar Sharing Plates' makes it worth it ease with its spacious back parking is a rare find. Stepping through the back door, I was greeted by a cozy, airy interior that immediately felt inviting.
Their Modern Asian Cuisine menu features their artisan creations, from small plates to noodles, meat and seafood. What stands out most is their handcrafted noodles with ingredients of egg and flour only, giving each strand of noodle a soft yet chewy and firm texture.
I treid the Tiger Prawn Dried Noodle and Soy Glazed Chicken Noodle. It got me excited to try as the former one mentioning in the menu that it is inspired by PG Hokkien Mee, but it didn't fully hit the classic mark, but the three plump, juicy tiger prawns were excellent. Shio Kombu and aromatic oil added depth, while bursts of Ikura gave a sweet umami pop in every bite. The Soy Glazed Chicken noodle was light but flavourful, with a delicate richness from their special soy sauce.
Prices are slightly on the higher side, but the handcrafed noodles are filling and worth it. For a balanced meal, a plate of vegetables for sharing is a perfect addition.
