It is customary to enjoy abundance of delicious food during Chinese New Year as a blessing of good fortune and luck for the rest of the year. As such, why not leverage on the upcoming Chinese New Year 2022 by indulging in flavour from Fujian, China at Putien Malaysia? The Michelin accoladed restaurant from Singapore has brought in such wondrous and delicate dishes for this CNY till 15th February 2022.
As we understand from the restaurant, the popularity of the restaurant is so immense that Putien restaurants in Klang Valley are almost reaching maximum capacity for this CNY.

Putien Malaysia is well known for their delicious Poon Choy - Pot of Goodies Abalone. Although both of us are not a big fan of Poon Choy due to the thick gravy and sometimes to the extend of surfeiting, but Putien Poon Choy managed to court our appetite. This pot of goodies are braised with 12 different quality ingredients, including razor clams, tiger prawns, fish maws, chicken wings sea cucumbers, fatt choy and also the precious abalones. The taste is sleek with a hint of natural sweetness derived from the combination of all elements in the Poon Choy. It is definitely something we could have for the 2-3 days continously without getting bored.
The Poon Choy is priced at RM 588 nett for 4 pax, RM 868 nett for 6 pax and RM 1388 nett for 10 pax. Those have prior experience enjoying Chinese New Year dishes at Putien will know that the abalone is most priced for, and all the Poon Choy did come with abalones. It is available for takeaway too.
Little tips here. Order a bowl of Putien Longrevity Mee Suan and enjoy it with the Poon Choy gravy. It is one of the tradition and best way to enjoy it back in Putien in Fujian China.
Of course, Chinese New Year lunch and dinner must come with a Yee Shang. Putien Prosperity Yu Sheng is available at 3 sizes, namely small (RM 68.80 nett), medium (RM 88.80 nett) and large (RM 138.80 nett). It comes with the signature abalones too.
The appetizers here are enlightening in taste. You may select a few of the appetizers from the choices offered. Braised pig intenstines, braised homemade bean curds, iced bitter gourd and seaweed are our favourites here.
The Chinese New Year menu also feature some of the highlights of Putien dishes. We sampled Deep Fried Squirrel Fish which is served with a tangy and sweet gravy. The seabass is served deboned to allow everyone enjoy it with a peace of mind.
We also privilleged to sample Spinach in Supreme Stock. It is our of our favourite as it uses both century egg and salted egg to give the mild spinach a robust flavour.
