Concealed within the quiet Jalan Clove Hall in Georgetown, Lunabar coffee is more than just another cafe next door. The coffee offered here is more than its face value, but rather a taste appreciation of the brewed drinks to its finest and subtle flavors, coupled with surrounding serene environment of the cafe. Lunabar coffee provides an excellent rendezvous for a relax and laid back afternoon, allowing one to sit back and regain himself in this intense life pace.
In fact, the cafe itself is more than a place to enjoy one of the finest brewed coffee. Bearing 3 functions within one building, plants selling and roasting coffee beans are carried out at the same time.
Currently Lunabar Coffee is at its soft launch stages, offering both single origin and blended coffee. On coffee preparation, the barista uses either Espresso or filtering method, depending on customers' preferences. Seasoned coffee beans are used here. During our time here, we had Nicaragua, Honduras and Ethiopia coffee beans, each with different aroma profiles and acidity. Sip the coffee while served hot, then taste again when the temperature reduces to get a different taste sensation.
What about if you are not a coffee person yet keen to indulge in such a cozy environment for a drink?
Fret not, the baristas at Lunabar coffee are skilled in preparing hot chocolate and Matcha drinks too. We had a cup of hot chocolate with 65% cocoa with a small hint of berries aroma. Ladies would love it we reckon.
Comparing to the other cafes, dessert choices are sparingly available in Lunabar Coffee. The owner cited desserts are not their primary focus yet, however more selections would be available in near future.Â
Nevertheless, their own made Matchamisu is an interesting choice. It is a combination of matcha and tiramisu, with alternating layer of spongy tiramisu cake and Matcha cream, then topped with dust of Matcha. When scoop into the mouth, these 2 layers have surprisingly commingled excellently, cheering the taste buds with a rich and cheesy sensation with Matcha scented ending.
We truly enjoyed ourselves relaxing in such a serene place and literally spent the whole afternoon here just chit chatting and re-energize ourselves for the next hectic week ahead.
