It is going to be a long and tiring Day 3 in Western Australia as we are going to Bunbury Wildlife Park in the morning, then departing to Ferguson Valley for a lunch, before proceed to Gnomeville, King Jarrah Tree and witness the magnificent Wellington Dam. Oh man, this is going to be a hectic day.

We are gradually accustomized of waking up early in Western Australia, and begun the day with Muesli and 2 awesome muffins complement from the Airbnb owner. This is one of the best muffins we have tried so far in our life!

As a matter of fact, going to Bunbury Wildlife Park was never on our list at all. The idea originated from our Airbnb host in Bunbury as she cited mingling around with the kangaroos are easier here compared to the crowded Caversham Wildlife Park in Perth city.

Entrance fee to Bunbury Wildlife Park is AUD 9.80 per pax, and it cost another AUD 1 to buy a pack of seed to feed the animals, especially kangaroo inside the park.

One of the parrot in the aviary treated my backpack and bottle as warms, as he was pecking it non stop the moment I got into the aviary. Even I tried to shrug him off gently but he seemed to be ignoring my indicator. Eventually my water bottle was destroyed by him.

Spending 2 or 3 hours are just nice for Bunbury Wildlife Park as it is not big in size. It is more like a small park for a family outing instead for tourists. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the moments there with less crowd.

Kangaroo section is located at the end of the park, whereby Kangaroos are allowed to roam freely in the confined space. There were 6 kangaroo from our count when we was there, and only 2-3 families around to play with them.

Basically, the kangaroos in the park are more friendly toward human in contrast to the wild kangaroos we have bumped into earlier. However, they are laid back and only will approach you when you tease them with the feeds bought in the entrance. If you plan to give a skip to Caversham Wildlife Park, then Bunbury Wildlife Park is a great chance for you to come close with kangaroos.

Last in the park were some reptiles confined in glasses.

After a relaxing morning walk in Bunbury Wildlife Park, we bid farewall to this small city and headed to Ferguson Valley.

Ferguson Valley is located slightly away from the coastline, and Shire of Dardanup within Ferguson Valley boasts several wineries, breweries and restaurants that attract crowd across Western Australia. Besides, the area around Ferguson Valley is picturesque, and at one instant the dairy farm is akin those we always see in New Zealand.

We randomly picked a brewery to stop by - Moody Cow Brewery. It is an award winning brewery and has a vintage and western style decoration.

As we had no idea about beers and wine that time, we asked the sommelier's recommendation for something mild in taste that suitable for beginners, and of course we told her that we needed to drive long distance later.

We were told that the beers here are their house brew. Oh man, the Ginger Ale (half pint, AUD 6.50) we had were so nice! First times we had Ginger Beer and the taste was sleek!

For food, we had a Black Angus Beef Burger (AUD 25), which has a juicy patty and big in size. It was nice to be shared among 2 person, and probably too much for one person.

There was a dog during our time there, and we were unsure whether it is a house dog or a dog tag along one of the patron. He was enjoying the open field behind the restaurant, playing ball fetching with one of the guy whom supposedly to be his owner.

After the good lunch, we drove further to Gnomesville, a very unique place in Wellington Western Australia. Its exact location is off the roundabout which links Wellington Mill Road and Ferguson Road in Ferguson Valley.

The road leading to Gnomesville are unsealed roads, and we were really worried about the condition of our car when driving through these road. Furthermore, we did not notice any cars pass by us when driving there, which creep us out even more. Imagine our car got crippled half way in this jungle, who will be there to save us?

The road leading to Gnomesville was so quiet that almost no cars pass by, and we can take our time off to pose for some pictures on the unsealed road for at least 15 minutes before another car pass by.

Well, what is so special or unique about Gnomesville that some people like us purposely drive hours just to be there?

This is because the entire place is full with gnomes, and there are easily thousand of gnomes in the small garden! According to the Gnomesville website, there are remarkably few epople who know exactly how Gnomesville appear but there are many different version of stories available nowadays.

To sum it up, Gnomesville is a small villege for all the gnomes across the world to reside!

Then we drove further deep into the forest into Wellington National Park, just to witness the majestic King Jarrah Tree, one of the tallest tree of Wellington National Park. Estimated to be between 300 and 500 years old, the King Jarrah Tree stands approximately 36 metres tall and has surived bush fires, storms, lighting and insect attack.

There is a broadwalk and viewing platform allow you to have a view of the tree directly. It is a nice place to enjoy the beauty of the nature.

Next destination, Wellington Dam. It is the second largest dam in Western Australia and is fed by the Collie River. We drove by and above the dam to snap some scenic pictures with amazing sky.

We called it a day and going to Busselton for a rest at another Airbnb. En route to Busselton at Ferguson Valley, the landscapes were beautiful and picturesque that we stopped by a few times at different destinations just to snap a few pictures for memory. The cloud formation, along with the sunset was something that we never seen before.

It is such a reminiscent that I wish to travel back to Ferguson Valley just to enjoy the beautiful scenery again when penning the blog post.

We head back to Bunbury just to pay a visit to the Bunbury Farmer Market, which we missed out this morning. Oh man the farmer market is impressive! It sells a variety of fresh produce from the markets, and there were a variety of fruits, meats, salads and etc that can feed your stomach here!

It is easy to maneuver in the farmer market, and we get to sample a variety of products here in the different station, prepared by the chefs. Amazed by its selection, we bought:
  • D'orsogna antipasto (AUD 4.99)
  • Pork & Apple Sausages (AUD 7.99)

And tadaaa.. this is our dinner for the night, utilizing the fresh produce bought from the farmer's market. I wish we could have access to such a variety of produce in Malaysia's market.

Another Milkyway shot when driving to Busselton. Stopped by the highway to take the shot. Not a perfect shot but I am contended!
