The hotel with its most unique and trendy style - Iconic Hotel has launched Chinese New Year Buffet Dinner 2018 in gearing up for this auspicious festive session. The buffet is being hosted at Mezza 9, the flagship restaurant of Iconic Hotel which plum blossoms bloomed across the area to yield a Chinese New Year feeling. For a mere RM98+, you may enjoy the Chinese New Year Buffet with a wide spread of food including seafood on ice, western delight, dim sum, roasted chicken and duck and etc. The buffet runs every Friday and Saturday till 2nd of March 2018.Â

Most may expect a lot of Western delights in conventional buffet settings but Iconic Hotel turns things differently by providing a fair balance of both Oriental and Western delight, considering it is the celebration of Chinese New Year in the beginning of the year. Assorted Dim Sum, Pau, Loh Mai Kai, Chicken Loh Bak, Salted Egg Bun, Fried Wantan and Chicken Pandan can be seen spread across different section in Mezza 9.Â
For a light start, get some plain congee with different condiments to warm up the stomach first.

There are more than 10 different dishes at the hot dishes section, which included some rare presence in buffet such as crispy noodle with seafood egg sauce and steamed fish Teo Chew style.Â
However, people who prefer western delights are not forgotten as there are lobster Thermidor, roasted lamb with mint jelly brown sauce and spaghetti carbonara, which can be considered as comfort food for some.

Local noodles fares are offered here as well, with 3 different soups (prawn mee soup, chicken clear soup, tom yam soup) can be chosen along with your preferred condiments to make up a bowl of warm staple food for the night.
If you are a rice person, do not miss out their roasted chicken and duck that best eaten along with the aromatic rice. When the smell struck your nostril, coupled with the appealing visual, rest assured your appetite will be open up for more food for the night.

Beside the roasted chicken and duck counter, there are seafood on the ice, featuring slipper lobsters, NZ Mussels, snapper crabs and fresh water prawns. Then for those who prefer local seafood may go for otak-otak.Â
Even the dessert section has been infused with oriental elements. The puddings and jelly are made into fish shape, portraying the Chinese' belief on "may there be fish every year" that loosely translated into may every year ended with ample surplus.Â
Of course, regulars such as Chocolate Banana Cake, Mango Mousse Cake, Black Forest Cake, Blueberry Cake, Meringue Tart, Cream Puff, Fruit Flan, Pancakes and etc are there to tantalize your taste buds.Â
We were deeply indulged with the glutinous rice ball with red bean soup that packs with strong coconut scent and the rice ball which has awesome filling. Two of us has voraciously chomped down 6 glutinous rice balls in total! Thereafter, we get some lye chee kang to cool body down.
Overall, the spread of Chinese New Year Buffet in Mezza 9 is good and value the money. Make an easy family outing to Iconic hotel during Chinese New Year for an indulgence in the wonderful buffet.Â
