Traditional Chinese desserts are still soothing in the end of the day after a regular meals, yet the good ones are getting scarce due to urbanization. On a random occasion, we spotted a roadside stall that sells packets of such dessert in Sungai Ara town and it seems to be popular among the locals. Cars and bikes occasionally stopped by to take away a few packets of it. How could we miss the delicacy after seeing numerous locals bought it?
The stall is manned by an aunty, and sometimes helped by a young girl whom we presumed is her grandchildren. Various desserts such as sweet potatoes soup, barley soup and sweet black glutinous rice soup are sold here, with a flat price of RM 1.50.
Basically, the sweet black glutinous rice soup ticks all the essential boxes. It is sweet to the right level, silky and creamy, serving great as a sweet and savoury dessert. Not to mention it is affordable too. What can you buy with RM 1.50 nowadays?
