Hand hand brew filter coffee are getting common in cafe or restaurants but have you seen a makeshift stall by the alley offering it?
The above scene can be observed at Sungai Ara market area on every Saturday. This small coffee stall has a name "Pelangi Coffee", probably named after the stationery shop it is located.
Pelangi is operated by a young chap driven by his passion for coffee. He has a primary career to strive for, which explains why he is only able to operate on Saturday.
Surprisingly, all of his sales are donation basis. You pay any amount which you deem suitable. That put us in a very difficult situation, as we know filter coffee ain't cheap.
The young barista will ask which beans you prefer, or more precisely which taste would you enjoy and make suitable recommendations for you. During our visit there, we had Sumatra Mandheling Coffee Beans, and the barista let us sample a small cup of Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Kochere.
Some of you may thought drinking a filter coffee by the alley will be too unromantic, frigid or unimpressive. Well, rest assured the alley has been well decorated with chairs, tables, lighting and books, totally accustomed to the circumstances of a cafe.
