GK Pho Original Vietnamese Noodle Soup @ Arena Curve, Bayan Baru, Penang

GK Pho Original Vietnamese Noodle Soup is a relatively new eatery in Arena Curve that offers affordable Vietnamese style noodles. The price is attractive, with the lowest ceiling that it offers for a bowl of noodles is RM 5.

The noodles are available in either dry or soup version, and you can pick the mixture of ingredients ranging from chicken slices, tenderloin, beef balls, stomach and muscles.

We thought the Dry Chicken Noodle somehow lack the traits that regular Vietnamese cuisine demonstrates. Though the taste is above average, it tasted more like the usual dry koay teow noodles we have in regular Chinese stalls.

On the other hand, the beef noodle soup yields a very bold flavor. Instead of the classic murky beef soup, the soup here is skewed toward the clear version. The taste is great for those seeking for a bowl of warm noodles, albeit it lacks of the herbs scent which we expected from Vietnamese cuisines. However, the beef muscles, tenderloins and balls are exquisite of the day that you would not want to miss.
