Arena Curve, the new commercial lot at Bayan Lepas has gained some bustling activities after food business started pouring into this area. The latest one would be Lacarbonara, specializing in selling Italian & Western Cuisine. Surprisingly, this cafe is serving halal cafe, providing Muslim working within the vicinity a conducive place for a dining at a wallet-friendly price.Â
As the name indicated, the cafe is serving mainly pasta and meat dishes. There is a good news for people who patrons here during lunch hour - Lunch set is provided for just RM19.50 with a bowl of tomato soup, a choice of main between Breaded Chicken Fillet or Spaghetti with Button Mushrooms, a piece of Tiramisu and a cup of Ice Lemon Tea. It is really a bargain and helped people to save up a lot in this economic uncertainty time.Â
Considering their hefty name suggesting their specialty dish would be their spaghetti related dishes, we opted for Spaghetti with Button Mushrooms in Cream Sauce. The noodles were cooked al-dente then topped with a significant quantity of button mushrooms, then sprinkled by rock salts surrounding the noodles. The spaghetti noodles were then coated with cream sauce in a simple delicious matter, though more sauce would further increased the delicacy of the noodles.Â
The tomato soup as a starter was quite packed with a tomato yet. Meanwhile, we were somehow impressed with the tiramisu. Conventionally, most tiramisu had its taste enhanced by liquor but considering this is a halal cafe thus no liquor was used. However, the combination of mascarpone cheese, egg yolks, cocoa powder, sugar were well sufficient to produce a scrumptious tiramisu cake for ending of the day.Â
While we thought the Grilled Chicken Cordon Blue (RM 25.00) had the cheese filled within the chicken breast, the version of Cordon Blue here was different. The chicken breast had a piece of cheddar cheese topping it while surrounded by leek creamy sauce. Sandwiching in between the tender chicken breast milk was a piece of chicken ham while we can feel the granules of salt. Overall we were satisfied with the dish, but the reduction of a tad of saltiness would be better. Nevertheless, some people would just like it this way then.Â
As Vanilla Milkshake was running out, we had a cup of Chocolate Milkshake (RM 6.00).
