Carrying the quest to taste the famous Singapore Hainanese style chicken rice, we set for Chicken Rice Wee Nam Kee. Without doubt, the chicken rice was of topnotch quality. Chicken was soft and tender, roasted to perfection and well shined by the aromatic soy sauce. We liked the fact "oily rice" was used instead of white rice, and each of the rice grains can be tasted distinctively. The chilli and "zhu kok" were great and complemented the chicken rice well.

In Singapore, fried oysters are differentiated into two main types. Orh Luak being the wet style fried oysters and Orh Neng being the crispy style. Intrigued to try it, we ordered Orh Luak for trying and it was something mere to fulfill the stomach needs. The dish had 5 pieces of big oysters and deliver a pack of full starchy flavour. Dip into the chili sauce provided for a better taste enhancement.

Another popular Singapore dishes which is almost visible in every food corner is Carrot Cake. Neither a carrot or a cake itself, the dish is actually fried radish and topped with eggs. You may opt to have the white or black version, and above picture depicted the white version. The dish was appeasing though it felt like an overwhelming carbohydrate loading.  Somehow, it tasted like a combination of radish and omelette.

There are still many food stalls available but unfortunately our stomach was hitting its allowance limit. Being a tourist, it is good to visit here and sample some of the local hawker dishes, which would be a good way to testify one of the many things unchanged in Singapore despite its massive development - its food!
