The mood of Christmas is brewing in every corner of the world, and G Hotel Penang is joining the cohort to celebrate this festive session by kicking the start the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at G Hotel Gurney lobby on 2nd December 2016. We were honored to be able to join and witness the Christmas tree lighting ceremony on that day.
The event started with a short welcoming speech by Mr. Michael Hanratty, General Manager of G Hotel, followed by the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. The gigantic Christmas tree at G Hotel lobby definitely is the attention of the day. Standing tall at 20 feet and decorated in the theme of green with handmade ornaments, lighting and a star, every passer by stopped there to take some pictures. If you happen to pass by Gurney and G Hotel, do drop by and grab some attention in your Instagram!
Shortly, the Christmas carols can be heard across the lobby, led by the children from the Home. Thereafter, dance performances are showcased. The Christmas festive mood is felt across the floor, made us reminiscent the good old times we had with our friends. Kudos the the talented kids for the excellent performance during the night.Â
G Hotel Gurney also continued the charity program "A Time to Give", in aid of the children from the Salvation Army Penang Children's Home. What happened was the children hang their wish cards on the Christmas tree located at the corner of the lobby. The wish cards bear the dreams of the children for this upcoming Christmas, some of them may wish for a new pair of football shoes, or a stationery pouch for their school etc. Public can pick up a card of their choices of gift, purchase it and place it under the Christmas tree before 16th December 2016.
While we celebrate this noble Christmas with a happy heart, why don't we leverage on our ability to make one kid in the world share the same happiness with us too?
The gift placed under the Christmas tree will be unwrapped by the children on 21st December 2016. There are still few days for you to make your contribution!Â
