The joyous moment during a trip to Cameron Highlands will be a steamboat dinner. Nothing beats the warmth from the steamboat in the chilly night, plus a group of friends and family may leverage the steamboat night and full it with fun and laughter. Seeing this is a great business opportunity, steamboat restaurant had since blossomed in Cameron Highlands.
Our friends brought us to Water Cress Steamboat Restaurant, which is a distance away from the Brinchang town. We had no regret travelling here even though there was a slight traffic congestion on the way. Truly impressive steamboat experience.

Traditional Charcoal Steamboat is served here, with the choices to go for either vegetarian or non-vegetarian version. It is served using the traditional steamboat pot with a chimney, channeling the heat from burning charcoal. Order is by per pax, however we opted for a portion of 5 pax while we had 7 people, which was proven to be a right choice.
Why we said so? Because the portion being served is real huge. Put it this way, the varieties of steamboat ingredients might not be enough to feed everybody's tummy but the bedding of water cress is way too much for 7 of us!Â
The arrays of ingredients served here are some basic items offered in common steamboat restaurants. For vegetarian set, the meat is substituted with meat analogues. Only exception was the enormous quantity of water cress till we had water cress phobia for the next days!
Supremacy of the soup was the standout of steamboat here. It has a natural vegetable taste with a sweet ending, totally free from any forms of added flavors.Â
All the ingredients were great except the meat was a slight letdown. It was too hard and tasteless to chew. Nevertheless, we could not be bothered much about it as we were too indulged with the natural scented soup.
If you come here in the morning session, there is a view of water cress farm on the steep hill and you can take a tour there. Kind of serve like a checkpoint for facebookers to me.
