After a series of food hunting and travelling posts, we had the opportunity to attend the Penang International Triathlon & Duathlon (PgiTD) on April 17. 2016 marks the 4th times that the annual event held in Penang. Well, not to confuse, we were there for leisure and not participating in the triathlon nor duathlon. Half marathon is our limit as of now.

The main sponsor for the PgiTD 2016 is a newcomer and Thailand's number 1 sports drink, SPONSOR. Meaning to say, SPONSOR sponsored the event SPONSOR. Sounds confusing, fret not, take a look at the poster below and you will grasp the idea what are SPONSOR. Haha!
The event on that day was a huge success, attracting 1000 participants both locally and internationally. Even the Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Tuan Lim Guan Eng has came as earlier as 7:30am to flag off the event together with General Manager of SPONSOR Malaysia, Mr. Charles Wong and Chairman of G-Club Cyclist Penang, Dato' Dr. Lim Seh Guan.
The triathletes started the day with a 1.5km of swim at Pantai Jubilee, followed by cycling 40km and running 10km. What a tough race!
Meanwhile, duathletes started off with 7km run around the scenic Teluk Bahang fishing village followed by a race to complete a 40km cycle from Teluk Bahang Dam to Balik Pulau and back, before looping back to the finishing line by a 10km distance run.

For your information, SPONSOR is available currently only in Penang at Happy Mart, 24 Express, 98 Stores and other selected supermarkets and minimarkets. It is available in 325ml can packaging and retails at RM 1.70 per can. Go and get them before your friends do!Â

Well, you can see the jubilance expression on the face of the participants upon completion of the race. Throughout the race track I can see SPONSOR drinks are provided to the participants, it must have helped the participants to boast their performance and provided cooling down as well.Â
This is our pack for the day. 4 cans of SPONSOR sport drinks, a SPONSOR towel and a thumb drive. If you were to ask us how is the taste of SPONSOR sport drinks, we would say that it tasted great with a sweet ending, which we believed that is why it is able to provide a great boast for sportsmen!
