Hou Mei Wo Steamboat 好味锅猪骨火锅 has been operating at Elite Avenue for sometime and we have heard some positive feedback on its delectable pork bone soup steamboat. It was a rainy Saturday thus we decided to come here to enjoy a bowl of piping hot steamboat. Though we enjoyed the steamboat but there ought to be some improvement in certain aspects...

The service needed a drastic improvement which we believed due to lack of staff. There was only 2 or 3 foreign servers in the shop and they looked exhausted, trying their best to attend to the needs of every customers. We waited for more than 20 minutes before the steamboat pot was served, and it was served to the wrong table! It was more like a self service restaurants, from refilling soup or taking the eating utensils but we never understand why 10% service charge is applicable. Return for a second times? We were doubtful.. 

We picked the basic special pork bone soup (RM12.90) for the sake of trying their signature soup and indeed it was not disappointing. The stew hot soup with tantalising aroma complement any ingredients that were put into them. Chinese cabbages and yam were added complementary to enrich the flavour of the soup. 

We ordered the slices platter (RM 23.90) which came with 5 pieces of pork slices, Australian striploin, New Zealand lamb slices and chicken slices each. The pork slices have a balanced lean to fat mean proportion, which we felt could be better if the proportion of fat meat is reduced. Dunking the meat to the raw eggs would introduced an egg taste to the meat. It was enjoyable, though we prefer thinner slices of meat. 

We were satisfied with the food but be prepared to have a leftover credit limit in credit card or extra cash. We ordered a minimum of food but it cost us RM74.60 in total. On top of that, we did not sight any English, Malay or Chinese spoken workers here, making communication tough for the night.
