Hou Mei Yuen Pan Mee @ Bayan Baru, Penang

Hou Mei Yuen Pan Mee which hidden in Bukit Jambul flat has been quite famous since I was small, however I haven learn to appreciate the deliciousness of pan mee back then. Few days ago, mystery man and I happened to have lunch nearby so why done we try out since mystery man never try it before.

Small Flat Noodle Pan Mee Soup (RM 2.80) came in very small portion for petite appetite. Their broth soup was noteworthy with subtle of sweetness. Black fungus and sweet leaf or known as mani cai gave extra biting texture to the noodle. Although the deep fried anchovies wasn't as crunchy as I expected, however its good enough to give extra deep fried fishiness to the soup. We find it a little bit disappointed with the fish ball as it is a bit fishy to our liking.

Small Dried Thin Noodle Pan Mee (RM 2.80) would  be above average. What notable would be their chili paste. Even though the dry pan bee has been overwhelmed by the thick soy sauce, I just can't help douse every mouthful of noodle with chili paste.

The must try Rojak didn't open that day. I wonder is the aunty stop selling? As I haven't been here for like 2 years already. Added on Siew Mai (RM 2.20) & Chicken Glutinous Rice (RM 2.60) as dessert. I was amazed with the siew mai. I have always find siew mai from small stall taste much better than Dim Sum Restaurant. Nonetheless, the lo mai kai disappointed me though.

They serve only one kind of drink which is Leng Teh (RM 1.00)

Noticed most of the seats under trees? While having your meal, got to be ready for flying leaf surprisingly dropping into your meal.

Simple options of menu, both thin and flat noodle have the option of dry and soup. Portion came with the option of small and big, big appetite people can request for extra large though. If you are a fans of their fish ball, can add on with fish ball soup too.
